The Grudge, Paranormal Activity, and The Ring freaked me out. I tend to have problems sleeping after I watch movies based on a haunting.

Mine was always the Exorcist when I was growing up. That damn girl had me so freaked out. If I were flipping though channels and even saw her for a second my whole night sleep was screwed. I really haven't seen anything that scary since.

'it' the scary clown ones back when I was little, and a few jap horror ones, 'the ring' , 'juon: the grudge' and some older jap ones I can't recall, amazing how much atmosphere they created with very little fancy fx or anything.

also, I'm a bit of a pussy, fuck horror :o

As a kid it was the Exorcist. I remember my mom and sister saying it was the scariest movie ever made, and I remember whenever they tried to watch it, I'd freak out even before it began. I've watched it a few years back, but didn't find it scare at all, in fact to me, it hasn't aged well. It's a good movie though.

As for the movie that scared me the most, probably The Blair Witch project. These days I think the movie sucked, but back then I was like 10 or so, and actually believed the movie was real, when I watched it, I wasn't scared, but the next few nights I was extremely paranoid and could not sleep.

Other than that, nothing has really scared me since I've become an adult. I haven't found an actual movie that's been scary to me.

Can someone explain to me why The Grudge and The Ring are scary? I saw them and I got bored. The Exorcist didn't do much for me either.
