so, are you a religious person ? everyone fits somewhere, there's the atheists, agnostics, apatheists and then there's the pious/religious lot, there's also some new age hippie type folk, people who convert from one religion to another, spiritualists, communist/socialists, scientologists.... :faint:

where do you fit ? :banana7:

I fit in the category of the people who refuse to talk about their beliefs.

why, from fear of trolls ? :mistrust:

who cares what others think.. hold true to your beliefs, noone's taking the piss or anything

I thought about this, but I guess I really hadn't ever given it a proper thought before.. there's probably? a system or an intelligent design at work behind it all but nothing I concern myself with

not sure where I'd fit tbh :|

I don't feel comfortable because nowadays it's apparently cool to be atheist and people mess with you when you talk about your beliefs. And i arrived to the conclusion after looong thinking process that it's pointless talking about your "religion". I don't try to make anyone follow me, i have nothing to convince the other of and ... i think it concerns me and only me.

It's annoying me to see how simple people go on about them being atheist or satanists or whatever without even having a fucking clue about what they're talking about.

Also, who the hell would choose to be a satanist? who would actually choose evil over good? Cause if you admit that there's evil, you automatically know that there's good. But myeah, it's trendy, i suppose.

we'll just put you in the 'spiritualist' box for now, then :o

I get the anti religion thing, for many, it's been perverted with extremism, intolerance, bigotry etc and they just can't be bothered sifting thru the pile to find the obvious :tard:

but people shouldn't be afraid to say 'muslim' or 'christian' or 'etc' if that's where they truly feel their identity lies :banana7:

I don't know if that's my box. :o I don;t have a box
I believe in god, without needing religion (and everything religion includes: churches, priests, bibles, books -material stuff)

Everyone is like: dude, that's gay! whenever i speak about my believes
But i feel god in everything around me, even part of me whenever i do something good.

I hate religion because it's what actually created a distance between me and god. My grandparents thought me prayers, brought me to church, learned me to do my cross and light candles. I grew up with that sort of God, who punishes you for your sins etc etc. and it was the worse that could happen. I had a long period of hating god, in highschool. But that was long ago, when i thought that my grandparent's -materialized- God is the only true God.

Then i found ...other ways.
Anyway... :|

Probably would be easier to say that i don't believe in jesus, mary and the whole package of human inventions to keep in control the sheep and scare them out of sins.
My god is like a higher identity which i won't be able to fully understand with my mind, but which i can fully understand with my soul- when i feel love and compassion.

So myeah, judge me now that i'm exposed . :o

Oh! and one more thing, since it seem to be the most common way of people trying to put you away from God. You know that : "Oh, yeah! show me where is your god when kids die in wars, when a parents put in grave their kids killed by incurable diseases etc etc."

Well, that crosses my mind too...again, i don't believe in the common God, the one that forgives or punishes people, the one who gets involved in the whole process. There's not such thing! Them diseases are not a punishment that comes from god.

I'd answer to that question by simply telling to them people that how you make your bed, like that you sleep. All those diseases, wars it's just a balancing of the universe between bad and good. There's so much fucking evil in human that i wonder how the hell are we still here. There should be a mass suicide cause we're pretty worthless when you think deep about it.

And also, there's too much perfection in the Universe to be a coincidence.
Take the human body for instance.

apatheism article on wiki was very helpful :o

Sums it up pretty well.

Of course, religion is interesting in the context of human culture and history, and really interesting in terms of the myths and beliefs (kinda like fiction literature "oh look what these folks came up with") but other than that I really don't care.
Also, who the hell would choose to be a satanist?
I am not a satanist myself, but I believe that many are just "doing it for the lulz".
However, many interpretations of Lucifer are that he actually represents humanity with all of its flaws and perfections. Some consider the titan Prometheus to be the prototype of Lucifer (although, most myths/religions seem to share common traits that probably have, in fact, the same source, and have been interpreted differently in different times and parts of the world).
I realize this isn't probably what you had in mind though.

I also agree with you on how annoying these "combatant-atheists" can be. Makes me want to be able to use the excuse that I don't share species with them...
And also, there's too much perfection in the Universe to be a coincidence.
Take the human body for instance.
Eh, when you realize how much better stuff could have been designed... :)
I don't mean to bring potty-talk into this rather serious discussion, but I'm me, I guess, so:...
"Between our legs, it's like an entertainment complex in the middle of a sewage system. Who designed that?"
There are actually many other imperfections in the human body that can be taken more seriously, though.

Personally, I take great comfort in believing that the universe is in fact completely stochastic and mindless in the most fundamental level. It's a large part that drives my whole will to exist, of sorts... but that's a longer and deeper discussion, and I wouldn't impose my beliefs on others anyway, nor do I feel comfortable opening myself so deeply, I guess...

I guess my "god" is nature. It's a very broad answer, but it truly does apply quite universally. Many of my preferences in live, even my field of study derives from this.
Incidentally, as I see nature as something supreme, I don't think much of the "supernatural", which is, by definition, beyond nature. If it's used as "something we don't know yet", though, then it's just "the god of the gaps".

I see I'm starting to say "I guess" a lot, meaning I'm really tired and can't really use my brain very flexibly anymore. Better go dream of electric sheep.

I guess most people who believe in some sort of higher power actually believe the same thing, but they just express it differently. I believe in nature, that the universe is God and it created itself. And we're a part of it. It's amazing to think that. Sometimes I can feel it too, being a part of something that old and big, and everything just seems so beautiful and perfect and I get tears in my eyes from happiness, even though there's nothing to be particularly happy about. :tard2:

I am a born-again Christian and will freely speak of my relationship with God whenever it arises but I also live and let live and have many friends who are on the other side of the spectrum. If someone asks me about my beliefs or my views I share them but I don't use every occurrence to interject or interrupt to share my faith. Many people I never tell and it's not due to being ashamed but I don't need to thump somebody over the head or proselytize. In fact most of the time I don't share my beliefs and people end up asking me if I'm a Christian but I get along with everybody no matter what they believe, I respect other's beliefs or lack thereof for there is always common ground to be found. I don't care for organized religion though I go to church I don't adhere to the culture of organized religion. In many ways I don't fit in on either side and that's fine by me, my personal goal is relationship and definitely not religion.
