I lean towards the darker things, the desolate, brooding, empty, etc.
I enjoy the most picturing nature and its wonders, i like taking looong walks and i'd probably stop 100 of times to tale photos.
but i haven't yet got a style of my own, i'm still at the stage of picturing almost everything and anything to practice composition, texture, color, contrast... i do find people being the most challenging to photograph, but i'm not sure i'd go that direction unless i'll look into making a living out of it at a point.
Well the stage you're in is part of the fun! I wish I as a guitarist was still in awe of learning a simple note but after over 20 years of playing I still don't feel I've found my own style.
It's alright, can get frustrating at times, but that definitely depends of my mood too.
Are you self taught guitarist?
I learned everything on my own and mostly by experiencing, you know, just get the camera and shoot - see how i like that, what the light does, how the composition looks when processed, i tend to have this fear that when someone tells me how it's doe it loses all the charm/pleasure/ passion for me. When i need to get inspired, i just get out in the forest rather than watch tutorials. at least for now!
Yes, I'm self taught but I listen to a lot of guitarists and take what I like and incorporate it. Same with my lyrics. Where I live and the surrounding area there are some great landscapes to photograph. I live in the country where there's lots of open country and even wild horses.
